Large fishing vessels serving the Bering Sea, Western and Eastern Alaska, as well as the Washington Coast, have freezing systems aboard, including plate freezers, freeze tunnels, spiral freezers, blast freezers, and frozen product freezers.
For years, refrigeration piping and vessels were improperly insulated with flexible black rubber insulation, until McCown Crafted changed the industry by introducing rigid Styrofoam and other fabricated materials, zero perm rated vapor barriers, and durable protective PVC jacketing.
McCown Crafted extends the life of existing carbon steel piping and vessels by removing the rubber insulation, and then applying corrosion stopping gels, before installing the correct materials.
November and December are months many of the large fishing vessels are docked at Pier 91, Lake Union, or Tacoma. The construction schedules are compact and require professional, productive crews of insulators who can meet the completion dates on every project.
